Our point of difference is simple – we put our money where our mouth is. In addition to creating and delivering innovative major event products, we also provide an underwriting facility, minimising risk for our partners while ensuring that we have the ultimate incentive to maximise returns for all involved.
Our senior leadership team has a combined 65 years of experience in the successful delivery of some of the world’s biggest events, from Rugby World Cup 2011 and the NRL Auckland Nines, to the 2006 Commonwealth Games and the Volvo Ocean Race. We have been there and done it….and have a closet full of dated event merchandise to prove it.
Innovation and reinvention is king. Beyond generating significant incremental revenues and re-engaging with core fans, innovative products such as the NRL Auckland Nines provide a powerful platform to attract new audiences and ultimately, build a wider relationship with them. We understand and have significant experience in repackaging existing content to assist sporting codes in achieving their wider strategic ambitions.
To achieve the right results, you need the right tools for the job. Recognising that each situation is unique, we began every new project by asking the question ‘what are the tools required to achieve success?’ Once answered, we set about building the optimal team for the project, augmenting a core group of senior staff members, with a range of fit for purpose internal and / or external resources, often by leveraging our extensive global networks. Simply put, this approach allows us to bring the right people with the right skillsets to the table at the right time to achieve the right results.
With such high stakes on the line we do everything that we can to tilt the odds in our favour. Each event concept is subjected to exhaustive due diligence, with every possible scenario modelled and every assumption validated. We are very particular about who we choose to partner with, working only with organisations whose core values we believe are aligned to our own. Ultimately, we minimise our risk by backing the right events, at the right time with the right partners.

Held at Suncorp Stadium and hosted by Duco Events and Queensland Rugby Union, the Brisbane Global Rugby Tens brought together elite teams from Super Rugby and international clubs for two days of high-intensity rugby action. With star players, wildcard legends, and a $250K prize on the line, the tournament ran from 2017 and delivered a unique festival of sport, speed, and spectacle.

From 2014 to 2017, the NRL Auckland Nines lit up Eden Park with a fast-paced, festival-style take on rugby league. Hosted in partnership with Duco Events, the pre-season tournament featured all 16 NRL clubs, top-tier talent, and a $2.25 million prize pool. With shorter matches, nine-player sides, and wildcard plays, the Nines brought fans closer to the action—and each other. Women's national teams also took centre stage, making it a true celebration of the sport. The Nines returned briefly in 2020 before being shelved, leaving behind a legacy of excitement, innovation, and unforgettable footy moments.

Joseph Parker’s Road to the Title was a high-stakes international boxing event from Duco Events, charting the Kiwi heavyweight’s path back to world title contention. With global eyes watching, Parker faced off against top-ranked opponents in a bid to reclaim his crown, following a six-fight win streak and knockout triumph in Riyadh. Set against the backdrop of boxing’s political manoeuvres and rising rivals, this was more than a comeback—it was a defining moment in the heavyweight story.

Duco Events creates and delivers keynote speaker events featuring some of the biggest names across sport, politics, business, and entertainment.
