Dick Johnson

From starting out in the 90s with a residency at Manchester’s legendary Hacienda Club to producing tracks and albums for some of the UK’s most iconic dance labels and imprints, coupled with 20+ years at the heart of NZ’s electronic music scene, Dick Johnson is a force to be reckoned with.

As well as his own solo productions, Dick has remixed international artists Fatboy Slim, Crookers, Claude Von Stroke, DJ Sneak, Ian Pooley, Worthy, Crazy P, Bassnectar, Fred Everything, The Human League as well as Kiwi artists L.A.B, Shapeshifter, Theia, The Naked & Famous and Tiki Taane to name a few.

Based in Auckland, New Zealand and with a long standing weekly show on George Fm, Dick continues a busy DJ schedule and it’s a rare weekend that he’s not behind the decks electrifying a crowd of dedicated followers and testing his tunes on dance floors around New Zealand and beyond.

In 2021 Dick took on the role as music director for Synthony, working on multiple shows for NZ, Australia and around the globe. His role at Synthony covers curating the set lists, working alongside arranger Ryan Youens to create the scores, recreating and remastering all tracks and building the shows.
