It was New Zealand's sporting event of 2009, David Tua verse Shane Cameron, dubbed Fight of the Century!

At stake, the WBO Asia Pacific and WBO Oriental Heavyweight Championship Belts and the right to claim the title of “People’s Champion.” This fight was to make one boxers career and break the other.

In the red corner, David “Tuamanator” Tua who fought for the world title and had knock out wins against four men who had been previously crowned world champions. He still jointly holds the record for the most punches thrown in a heavyweight bout and was named by boxing’s bible, Ring Magazine, as the 48th greatest puncher in history.

In the blue corner, Shane “Mountain Warrior” Cameron, at the time ranked 6th in the world by the WBO and 15th in the world by the IBF, plus an impressive record of 22 wins from 23 fights.

It was not to be Cameron's night, when David Tua came out swinging in the second round, knocking Cameron out in seven seconds to pick up the WBO Asia Pacific and Oriental Heavyweight titles.
