Duco Events, in conjunction with New Zealand Fashion Week, introduces the General Capital presents NZ Fashion Week Gala with Elle Macpherson on 27 September at SkyCity Convention Centre, Auckland.

This must-attend fashion event will bring together New Zealand fashionistas, retailers and industry experts who will enjoy a black-tie dinner, key note address by Elle Macpherson on her career, fashion, business and philanthropy, in a spectacular modern gala ball setting, including fashion shows curated by the team at NZ Fashion Week, extravagant venue dressing, live music and entertainment.

CHARITY RECIPIENT

A group of former South Auckland kids and those with ties to the community set up The Rising Foundation to assist the excellent young people from some of our most at-risk communities and unlocking the massive potential they have.

The Rising Foundation does this by developing relationships with young people, their families, extended families, school and referral agencies to gain an understanding of their challenges and dreams.

The Rising Foundation has developed a sophisticated programme of relevant themes and interventions, that are rolled out over five to seven years their students are in their care. They use outdoor adventure and leadership and identity development experiences, to promote insight and understanding of each student’s true purpose.

In the programme’s safely monitored outdoor environment, students get to experience real consequences resulting from their behaviours and decisions. The differences between their current behaviours and their goals are highlighted, brought into alignment and they are encouraged to achieve the goals they have chosen.

The Rising Foundation provides for students to gain their full Driver’s licence and once students graduate, they work with the TRF Employment Pathways Manager who guides them into meaningful employment or tertiary education depending on their individual aspirations.
